DS' Tabs and Music

Music is the key to my soul.

Guitar Tabs (in ASCII): Ah yes, a passion of mine as of late. Figuring out other's songs on your own is a way to increase your skill as a player. I'll organize these by band name, then song name. There aren't many, but I did my best on them. The one for "Cryin'" was based off of another guy's tab which wasn't quite as accurate. The tabs for the Ryan Formato songs with Ryan's help. Everything else is mine. Again, don't steal these, email me if you want to put them somewhere other than here and mxtabs.net. Older Song Lyrics: These are lyrics that I wrote, with no music to go with them (yet, anyway...). I did write little notes (like when to make things clean and distorted, musical direction for the vocals, etc...)I may write music for these later, but as of now, here are the lyrics. New Song Lyrics: These are lyrics that are incomplete at the moment, written for the two songs I have nearly finished writing guitar parts for. I wrote little notes in these as well, for ideas for the rest of it. But, here's what I've got so far. The first song is meant to be a metally song, while the second a more poppy song along the lines of a Goo Goo Dolls or Creed tune. Old Music for Songs: These are random musical passages I've written for guitar, no lyrics to go with them. Of course you can't "hear" them, or if you try to play them you might not quite get what I mean by them, because there are no tempo markings and whatnot, but here they are anyway. Note: You need instab to read these, or you can rename the files to ".txt" and look at them in notepad or something. The first song is written in Drop C tuning, by the way (CGCFAD). The second one is in standard E (EADGBe). Music written in Finale:These two are tunes I wrote in high school. Instrumental, using classical instruments. The first is a trio I wrote with a snare and acoustic guitar accompanying them. I actually wrote this with Jessy and Mr. Gress (my high school band teacher) in mind, and myself in mind for the trombone (of course). We DID play it once, it was pretty cool. However, the song is really short, and we never performed it in public, one day I'll finish it and get together with them, or some other sax players, and play it in public. The second song was going to be my experiment in using guitar in Finale, unfortunately for me you cannot use the Guitar (TAB) instrument without also having a standard notation guitar in there as well. Nice cheery flute melody though. You need Finale Notepad or some other incarnation of Finale to look at and hear these, sorry. Newer Music: This is what I spent some of my summer doing, writing these two tunes, and transcribing the third. They are in .ptb format, which means you need the Power Tab Editor to read them. Sorry about that, it's just the program I wrote them in. There are MIDI versions, but I think it sounds better inside Power Tab. I added some new ones from the latest summer ('06), but they're all in Instab format, except the third and fourth, which are again in Power Tab. Unfortunately, I tend to start writing songs and never finish them (as I lack the inspiration and/or talent to write bass, drums and keyboard parts). I included a ASCII version of the fourth one, because Power Tab makes the whole thing sound WAY too straight (as in, straight eighth notes instead of swung ones, for Jazzy music). The rest of the songs that are in Instab format may not make much sense, but they're there. If you don't have Instab, download it from my Misc. Downloads section, or if you're too lazy to do that, just open them in Notepad.
