Bastard is an anime focused on the journey of the evil sorcerer Dark Schneider. Not to give too much of the storyline away, but Dark Schneider is imprisoned within a young boy after trying to conquer a kingdom. Dark Schneider (DS? Heh.) winds up being released from imprisonment to defend the very kingdom he was trying to conquer, against members of his old army, including his ex-girlfriend.

Here is the description off the back of the DVD case:

"Dark Schneider is the Bastard!! A lone warlock, freed from years of imprisonment, stands against an army of destruction bent on world conquest and the resurrection of an ancient evil. But Dark Schneider is not protecting the desperate people of Meta-Rikana out of the goodness of his heart. After all, they were the same ones who imprisoned him for leading the same army against their city the first time! However, he's not about to let his old army, his old generals, and his ex-girlfriend to show him up. Besides, his new girlfriend is counting on him, and it's been a while since he had some fun..."

This is a very short anime (only lasting 6 episodes). However, it is full of action, and storyline. If you get a chance to see this anime, don't pass it up!
